Title: In Dreams
Rating: PG
Summary: Glorfindel has a reason to smile.
They
do not understand, perhaps they cannot understand. I hear the
whispers and see the pitiful looks wherever I go, no matter
how happy or sad I am.
"How
lonely he must be," they say, or "maybe one day
he will move on."
I
cannot tell them that I am not alone, or that I have nothing
to move on from. They would not believe me and would think
me driven mad with grief.
But
I know that it is no illusion, my heart is too content for
that. I live my days in the sunlight you so loved, but I relish
the nights the most. For I know that when I enter reverie
you will be there, waiting for me.
You
take me in your arms and though you are not flesh and blood
you are still real, still mine. I had always believed there
was more to love than just the physical, now I know it to
be true.
We
make love, spirits mingling in the ethereal light and after
as we lay together, I tell you of my day, just as I always
have, just as I always will.
When
dawn comes we part, but not with sadness, for I know I will
see you again when the sun sets. I awake with a smile and
wet sheets, ready to face the day.
One
day you will be returned to me in full, but until then I am
content to find you in my dreams, and love you always, my
beloved Ecthelion.
