Title:
Heaven

Rating: Would probably put PG
Summary: How do you cope when your lover dies...
Author's notes: Well, this poem was inspired
by Heaven, a beautiful and sad story. I asked for author's approval
on the poem. Well, the story (or the poem) will be the spoilers
to each other. So, if you wanna read the real thing, skip the
poem and read the story first, and the poem then. And vice versa.
I stand upon a dream,
A mere fantasy,
A sight yet unseen
For my eyes to see.
I
stand upon a dream,
Upon a blessed curse;
Fighting off my tears,
This pain cannot be worse.
I
stand upon a hill,
My heart burns with you
And I see you smile
In another world.
I
stand upon a tomb.
My prayers and my ache,
All the centuries with you
I cannot forsake.
I
fall down on my knees
In an endless cry,
In lost fight with sorrow
They all close their eyes.
I
can feel your skin,
Your sweet embrace;
Smile you grant each day
Upon your perfect face.
I
fall down on my knees
In an endless cry;
Cursed or not,
I will not say goodbye!
I
woke up this morning
And this was but a nightmare.
You were here with me,
This is too much to bear.
Last
night’s kisses
And the passion you awoke;
A spell of perfection
That a Nazgûl broke.
A
lack of attention
And you were taken from me.
Too short for our love
Were mere centuries.
“I
do not wish to linger,
For shadow would I be.
Take out this knife
And set my fëa free.”
You
called me your bliss and peace,
But you were these things to me,
You were my grace and power,
All I needed to live.
Pleading
to Námo for favor,
Is it too much to ask?
Heartless knows not of a heartache,
Only of his own task.
Everyone
is leaving,
It’s just you and me,
Another night for the lovers.
Another night for their peace.
I
stand here alone in the darkness,
Many elves leaving me.
Elrond’s hand is soothing,
But it is not real.
Remember
the day when we bonded?
We are one in eternity!
Mithril rings on our fingers
And all the joy of this realm.
I
stand upon a dream,
A mere fantasy,
A sight yet unseen
For my eyes to see.
The
one I held in my arms,
My sweetest reverie;
A flesh eaten by fire,
His ethereal beauty.
I
look at the sky above me,
Stars hidden by clouds.
Do you look down upon me,
Remember I am yours?
I
want to dwell from this place,
I wish not to linger here.
My body cannot take the burden,
My heart cannot take my fears.
You
shine like a star in the darkness;
No star belongs to me.
Valar do not hate me
For giving me this dream.
It
shines down upon you,
Of what’s left of your grace.
I curse myself for my weakness,
To rip my heart for your embrace!
This
cold night I cover my body;
The coat filled with your scent.
With one dying glance
My weeping eyes look away.
I
fear upon forthcoming
Loneliness and despair,
But I must fulfill
The promise that I made.
My
dark wraithlike beauty
Was lying in the ground.
Eyes sheltered in sadness;
Last words that were told.
Such
love in his gaze
As he looked up to me,
His breath softly whispered:
“Glorfindel, please, live!”
